The Science of Life

Ayurveda is not a diet plan, a workout regimen, nor a rigid set of rules.  It is a "living style," a timeless guide to our most basic, alchemical truths - who we are and why we function the way we do.

Ayurveda was developed in India five millenia ago, sprung from the deep meditative states of the ancient sages.  Ayurveda is translated as "the knowledge of self," or "the wisdom of life," meaning that through the lens of this living science, we come to a deeper understanding of our bodies, thoughts, habits, cycles, and unique energetic make-up.

This body of knowledge is based on the understanding that the mind and the physical body are inextricably entwined within one another, and within nature.  We are all a part of nature, and nature is a part of each of us; whatever we put into our bodies - food, water, breath, sensory info - becomes manifest in our bodies. When we embrace this truth, we awaken our innate sense of how to heal and restore balance within our bodies, minds, and spirits.
